Marysville, Ohio, April 4 - Denison has added tandem versions to its Goldcup series of P24 and P30 pumps. Called P24R, P24L, P30R and P30L, they are additions to the P24 and P30 Goldcup product line that has been in production for more than 10 years.

The new pumps have the ability to supply 100 percent of corner power to a rear driven pump of equal size. The tandem configurations allow more than one pump to be driven from a common power shaft, thus eliminating the need for electric motors, or drive locations on engine driven gearboxes or perhaps even eliminate the gearbox altogether.

All features and options found on the P24P and P30P pumps are available on the new product, except for built-in servo and replenishing pumps (which must be supplied from an external source).

The rear drive allows another P30 to be driven from the rear of a P30R at maximum displacement and maximum rated intermittent pressure on both pumps at the same time.

Maximum allowable torque valves on the shafts are:

  • From the rear of the pump: 33548 lb./in. (3791 Nm);
  • Input to front pump, #2 keyed shaft: 30770 lb./in. (3477 Nm);
  • Input to front pump, #3 standard splined shaft: (50650 lb./in. (5722 Nm.)

New design features include one port block machining pattern used for all rear drive mounting adapters, an extended drive shaft used to drive the rear pump and a barrel hold-down mechanism to accommodate the larger drive shaft.

Rear drive options SAE -B, -C, -D, -E and -F are available by means of adapters mounted on the rear drive pad on the rear of the pump.

The P24R/L and P30R/L pumps are appropriate for any applications needing multiple pumps. Any pump that can mount to the rear of these pumps can be driven from it and open and closed circuit pumps may be mixed together.
