CHICAGO, IL - Microhydraulics announced today the release of its positional cylinder product technology. The company has been working for several years on developing a noncontact method of sensing cylinder position suitable for the mobile industry.

Important development criteria included cost, ruggedness, endurance in mobile applications, and repeatability. The company has been working with several large OEMs on prototype programs, adapting the technology to previously designed cylinders. Prime applications are the refuse industry, agricultural applications, and the construction equipment market.

Positional cylinders enable a wide range of applications on machines to be automated, such as return to dig, lift limits, remote control, and depth control. Coupled with appropriate electronic control, hydraulic valving and compensation techniques are greatly simplified or eliminated.

Patent applications for the technology are in progress, and the company expects to be in a position to offer the products commercially early next year.

Microhydraulics Inc. of Brampton (Toronto), Ontario provides advanced electro-hydraulic solutions to industrial and mobile equipment users. The company has fifteen years experience in solving difficult applications and developing high performance products in electro-hydraulics.
