April 2000 - A new line of Prestoweld spark-resistant push-in fittings that meet the stringent requirements of the robotic welding industry for pneumatic controls is being introduced by Parker's Brass Products Division. The fittings are designed for easy connections and are used with Parker's special Presotutube tubing, which has a spark-resistant outer sleeve to keep sparks and weld spatter from damaging the core tube. The push-button collet also functions as a protective cover that encapsulates the outer sheath of the Prestotube tubing. The fittings are available in a range of configurations, including unions, tees and elbows and in male NPT threads or straight threads with a fully retained o-ring seal. They are rated for a working pressure up to 360 psi and a working temperature from -5 degrees to 212 degrees Fahrenheit.
