| DECV 50/5 Brushless Motor Controller Provides Cost-effective Velocity Control
Fall River, MA -- Maxon's new DECV 50/5 is a compact, digital, velocity controller designed for controlling brushless motors up to 250 watts equipped with hall sensors. The controller has a speed range of 1,000 to 60,000 RPM for 2-pole motors. Requiring a supply voltage of 12 to 50 V DC, the controller can deliver 95% of the supply voltage to the motor at 5 A continuous current or 10 A peak current. Velocity and torque can be controlled via a 0 to 5 V signal or via external potentiometers.
Enable, direction, and stop inputs may be activated via external switches. There is also a ready output as well as speed and current monitor outputs. Weighing in at approximately 180 g (6.3 oz) and measuring 95 X 85.5 X 24 mm (3.7 X 3.4 X 1 in), the ambient operating temperature range of the amplifier is 0 to 45 degrees C (32 to 113 degrees F).
The DECV 50/5 is ideally suited for high-speed applications where 4-quadrant control is required (i.e. the ability to maintain speed whether accelerating or braking). Common applications include pumps, blowers, packaging systems, conveyor belts, and semiconductor manufacturing.
Maxon designs, manufactures, and markets fractional horsepower moving coil DC motors & brushless motors ranging in size from 6 to 90 mm (0.2 to 3.5 in) and from 0.03 to 500 watts. We also have an extensive selection of gearheads, encoders, and control electronics to complement our motors.
