Fall River, MA -- Maxon's new 10-mm planetary gearheads allow for high torque in a small diameter package. A wide range of ratios are available to enhance speed reduction and/or torque multiplication. Concentric input and output facilitates simple mounting arrangements.

Diameter is 10 mm (0.39 in), and five different ratios are available ranging from 4:1 up to 1024:1. Maximum speed input is 8,000 RPM, while efficiency is up to 90%. Length varies from 10.4 mm (0.41 in) to 23.5 mm (0.93 in) with weight varying from 6.7 g (0.29 oz) to 8.7 g (0.31 oz). Maximum continuous torque is 150 mNm (21.3 oz-in). Available with ball or sleeve bearings, the operating temperature range is -15O to 80O C (5O to 176O F). A lightweight, low cost, all-plastic version is also available for low torque applications. Gearheads are available mounted to Maxon's brush or brushless motors.

Due to their high performance in a compact package, the 10-mm planetary gearheads are particularly suitable for a variety of applications including hand-held devices, robotics, printers, automation, as well as medical and positioning applications.
