Del-Tron has introduced a new line of subminiature recirculating ball slide guides that provide designers with a friction-free mechanical interface for reciprocating mechanisms at a price that starts at only $82. The new ball slide guides have carriages as small as 0.614 inches long, 0.472 inches wide and 0.236 inches high so they can fit into the tightest applications.

The BSG series consists of a block and rail guide, both having two R-shaped raceway groves machined by precision grinding. The R-shaped groove features a large contact area so the slides provide a large load capacity and long life. The block consists of a main body and resin return cap that ensures smooth circulation of balls. Precision steel balls roll in the raceway grooves with contact at four points, enabling load and moment to be carried in all directions. Rolling resistance is extremely low, ensuring smooth and stable operation.

Models are available with rail lengths ranging from 1.575 to 25.197 inches and basic load ratings up to 2205 C lbf. An extra width type provides an increased number of rolling elements so it can replace the use of two linear guides. Stiffness with respect to moment load is increased, creating an effective compact linear motion mechanism. A model is also available that used stainless steel for the block and guide rail, providing superior corrosion resistance.
