Chainflex® CFLG is a glass fiber optic cable which combines the high quality transmission rates of glass fibers with the cable flexibility required for the automation industry. The glass fiber makeup of this cable allows for the improved transmission of data and signals for longer distances over its plastic counterpart, while maintaining as much flexibility as possible (10 times the diameter, as opposed to plastic's 7.5 times the diameter). For those who may choose the old flexibility over transmission clarification, igus® offers both options.

Chainflex® CFLG is constructed to withstand a temperature range of 20°F to 158°F, a nominal voltage of 300/500 V, a band width of 20MHz x km, and a damping rate of 6dB/km at 820 nm and 30dB/km at 1300 nm. This new fiber optic cable is well suited for use with a cable carrier. Igus® will work with engineers to incorporate Chainflex® CFLG into a carrier system, including harnessing.
