| E-Z Triflex Cable Carrier from igus**, inc. Facilitates Cable Assembly
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI -- igus, inc., manufacturer of Energy Chain** cable carrier systems, announces the arrival of the new E-Z Triflex cable carrier. This carrier combines two patented designs into one product for the most flexibility and quickest, easiest assembly available.
E-Z Triflex carriers are ideal for robotic applications and other space-restricted, multiple-axis applications where maximum freedom of movement and minimum assembly time are crucial. The Triflex line of carriers was designed by igus for one-, two- or three-axis movement of automated cables. The carriers, in effect, are able to snake in up to three different directions for complex motion, even in confined spaces, such as those found in many robotic applications. The potential downside to these carriers was the fact that they were enclosed tubes which required that the cables be threaded through from the end or labor-intensive removal of many individual lids. The E-Z Chain series of carriers incorporates a special crossbar design which consists of two, memory-retaining, engineered polymer pieces that allow cables and hoses to be pressed directly into the carrier without the need for any tools.

The new E-Z Triflex combines these two technologies into one carrier to facilitate cable assembly, inspection and maintenance. Links can be added or subtracted using a screwdriver as a lever to modify length and type of movement. The features of the E-Z Triflex are particularly useful in situations where the cable package has to be modified or if the unit must be disassembled and re-assembled for any reason.
igus specializes in Energy Chain® cable carrier systems, Chainflex** continuous flex cables and iglide** polymer bearing products.
