DAYTON, OH – Stegmann, Inc. introduces the AG626 IBS Absolute Rotary Encoder with Interbus interface. Interbus permits the efficient, rapid and simultaneous transmission of input and output data in one transmission cycle at low transmission speed.

This absolute encoder can be used in the widest possible range of automation applications by virtue of its Interbus functionality. The AG626 IBS offers greatly reduced engineering, cabling, commissioning and maintenance costs in comparison with conventional technology, and is electronically adjustable via SET push button. Additional features include selectable counting direction via CW/CCW switch, 25-bit multi-turn resolution (maximum) and Interbus remote installation. The AG626 IBS supports the Encoder Profile K2 and the programmable version K3. In the case of K3, programming the configurable features can be performed directly in the encoder from the master.

AG626 Absolute Encoders utilize a unique magnetic technology that allows high shock (100 g for 6 ms), vibration (20 g at 20 - 2000 Hz), temperature (100 C operating), and humidity (98% with condensation). Multi-turn counting is accomplished through gearing and magnets - absolute position is saved on power failure without the need for a battery back-up. AG626 Absolute Encoders are also available with SSI, Devicenet and Interbus interfaces.
