Mattituck, NY -- The "Smart Actuator" series of mini linear motion control actuators from Ultra Motion are self-contained linear motion systems that offer high performance, reliability, and low cost closed loop servo control. Providing total servo control, these compact brushless linear actuators provide forces to 500 lbs., and repeatability to + .0001 in. at speeds from .001 to 20 inches per second. The easy-to-program, "Smart Actuator" series of linear actuators is ideal for: Packaging, robotics, pick-and-place, valve actuation, lifting, and OEM applications.

Each "Smart Actuator", mini linear motion control actuator contains a microprocessor, servo amplifier, memory module, high capacity roller thrust bearing, and encoder and is supplied with a program editor and debugger. Programs are easily downloaded from a PC via the RS232 port and stored in the 8k EEPROM memory module. Programs can then be switched simply by changing the memory module and several actuators can be linked for coordinated movement. For OEM applications, after servo tuning the prototype, download the same information to each actuator for consistent results. Available in standard stroke lengths of 2, 4 and 8 inches, options include precision acme or ball lead screws, zero-backlash nuts, a wide variety of end connections and trunnion mounts, and an anti-backdrive brake.
